So it looks like the Sectric mechanism for the wall clock which was in my Grandfather's office, is toast. The motor shaft has failed and is cracked which is why it kept stopping.
The marking on the mechanism look to be "QEMG 101 41". I'm optimistic I can find another mechanism. It's too small for Euro quartz movements and I want to retain the hands.
My search-fu is failing me on a replacement. Any horologists out there in Fedi-land please?
Update: QEMG, thanks @darkling !
@jess I think that's an E not an F.
A quick search on OEMG and QEMG suggests it's QEMG: https://www.vintage-radio.net/forum/showthread.php?t=129093
