Brain slugs.
At the rate things are currently downhill, 2027 will be the year we welcome our brain slug overlords with open arms and tears of joy because they have finally arrived to relieve us of the burden of cognition, so that we are no longer troubled by how badly we've fucked up as a species.

@the1jberg @angusm I am generally opposed to capital punishment but I must admit there's a strong case for applying the death penalty to anyone who knowingly pursues a line of R&D that they *believe* will lead to the extinction of the human species, and Sam Altman and his mob are standing on the trapdoor.
