@gedankenstuecke I am reminded of the simple calculator. Before the calculator sums were done in the head. After the calculator they were allowed in classrooms. Has learning stopped ? How are we assessing ahead? Is dependance on calculators wrong or does it speed up learning as you can advance onto more complex abstract sums more quickly?

I am not an expert at pedagogy but this makes sense to me. The process of learning through undertaking research is complex, but what it does is open up new questions for the student, so you have to write about the topic, but in doing so you learn about related topic and also start to understand how much you understand related topics. At times you have to stop the main research essay and refresh or learn other material to help you with your main topic writing.

The process of applying critical thinking to what you are doing is also really important to ensure what you write is accurate.

I guess people who do sports are fitter than those who just sit there and watch sports on TV.

@gedankenstuecke What they call AI is meant to infantilize people, so this isn't surprising. The techbros want to infantilize people as much as possible so they can feel smart.
