i know you keep complaining about AI slop on flyers but the word's aunties and uncles were ready for this. they were already sharing inspirational tweety birds and "good morning" power points that AI could never. this is their moment.

@lzg I think an underlying issue here is that while so many of us *claiiiiim* to want to truly democratize design, we sure do like our grids and careful typography and tasteful minimalism, and die a little inside when those things are displaced from the once-gatekept central spaces of expression.
I nearly wept when a friend of mine, who’s become pretty senior at Apple, showed me how people now prefer to organize their homescreens.
“The age of Swiss design is over!” he cackled. And the Papyrus stans and the Comic Sans fans and the Minion-meme aunties *love it*.
@adamgreenfield I think also acknolwedging our cultural capital, and how it biases our tastes, would make us feel bad. you see, we're supposed to be in solidarity with the masses, if only the masses liked clean minimalism!
