@Kels_316 cant believe I didnt mention peanut butter. Single serving packets are great if you can get them. Its another great shelf-stable calorie for weight product to put on crackers or wraps
@liamvhogan @Kels_316 it's healthy calories
@Ex_spurt @Kels_316 Liam’s French onion soup crowd pleaser is onion cut into rings in oil in a ziplock bag, and shredded cheese in another, and two beef stock cubes. Brown the onions in oil, then make beef stock on top of it, then add the cheese as you eat it. And you have to go hein, hein, bien sûr, Allo Allo, etc.
@liamvhogan @Kels_316 ha! I have been seriously making some non-camping AAA onion soup lately, partly to impress my mate who is also a camping buddy. I am definitely going to try a variation of this one on him
@Ex_spurt @liamvhogan @Kels_316 back when I actually did camping (Before Children) my usual go-to was just chucking things in vac-packs.
But consider: breakfast potatoes. Cubed waxy potatoes, pre-boiled for 10 mins in the microwave, vac-packed with olive oil, salt, pepper, and whatever other seasonings you feel like adding. Cut open vac-pack into frypan, fry until golden crunchy bits appear and it’s fully reheated, and eat. With bacon and eggs.
@Ex_spurt @Kels_316 when I was 15 I recall going through bags of Lebanese flat bread with peanut butter on one side then rolled up. How I stayed thin I have no idea. Presumably anxiety
