The library is closed today for Labor Day (USA).

So my local food group's (free fridge, food rescue, indoor apartment farming) monthly meeting will be held online.

We like meeting in person, but this will do for this month (its only once a year).

I have not done much this month beyond weekly food rescues, setting up email for the group, and a visit to a community farm to establish a working relationship.... huh... maybe I have done some stuff...

Anyhow.

I'll see what everyone else has been up.

Hoping to get more done this next month. Been in a heavy slump (I know why!!!! Hoping I can fix it!)

I will update this post after the meeting to let y'all know what others have been up to.

@tinker any suggestions how to set up a „easy“ mailing list? We have 80ish members and struggling on getting the mails out 🥲

@matthiasjax - So I have two separate solutions for email, one is email proper and then I use a separate solution for email mailing lists.

I needed that email mailing list to be able to allow:
- User signup (doesnt require that I set anything up individually)
- User unsubscribe function
- Sending of newsletters
- Users responding to group and holding conversations
- Privacy for users (not exposing email addresses)
- Multiple admins
- Inexpensive or free

I ended up going with Gaggle Email and have so far loved it: https://gaggle.email/

For actual email, I've settled on another solution.

@bluetea - I appreciate you saying that. I feel like a failure, hahaha. The group is chugging along well and the free fridge and the indoor gardening part is going well. I dont have the food rescue side where i want it yet.

But working on it.

So many others in the group are doing so much more. And I'm doing my best to facilitate them.
