I guess this should be a warning to politicians everywher: Don't let your citizens fall into unemployment and relative poverty, or they will become very easy prey for any populist party that promises to solve all their problems by harming someone else.
Desperate people, who has lost faith in a government that seems to have stopped caring about them, will do desperate things. That is true in Germany as well as the USA.
