I do not understand the difference between these two examples. It the implication that the second one is no longer young, or simply that they are still young and cool, but now better informed about ducks?
@david_chisnall it’s definitely changing but where I am at least bird watching was stereotyped as a hobby for older people who dress uncool
@joannaholman Even ducks? Weird to imagine ducks not being cool. Everyone likes ducks! I find this Oscar Wilde quote to be appropriate:
Fashion is what one wears oneself. What other people wear is merely vulgar.
