@saramg Asking as a total simpleton. Does it mean that the start menu is sort of a web application that runs in a browser? I know nothing about React Native save for the fact that it exists, but the Native in it made me feel like it would use React DSL but compile into a native application which would avoid the browser overhead.
@loathsome_dongeater no, there's no browser involved, react native serves as an abstraction on top of windows apis. But it does mean that there is a javascript runtime involved, compared to compiled C# code
@saramg
@twipped @loathsome_dongeater I mean, the "reply" from Philippe is also a parody account, so the whole this is bullshirt.
What's not is how willing we ALL are to believe something akin to that exchange *did* occur. Particularly the part where someone did look at the perf impact to that pretty inescapable component of the desktop environment and said, "Worth it."
@saramg @twipped @loathsome_dongeater That's a relief! How do you know it's a parody account?
