Look. I'm not really making fun of someone dying. I'm not built that way. But I do have an infinitely dark sense of humour and also a complicated relationship with religion and Christianity specifically. For lots of personal reasons I won't bore you with. I also abhor waste. Anyway... brace yourself.
Trish works with someone who was at that big Christian festival last week where that man died and some other people were injured when a sign fell on them. Because the organisers took the decision to cancel the rest of the festival due to the incident, they distributed a lot of the food that would otherwise have gone to waste. For some reason I have therefore ended up with caramelised onion hummus and Moroccan-style hummus from the festival. I've just done the Moroccan hummus. It was very nice. I can't tell if I've been enormously disrespectful for eating it, or the opposite or it just doesn't matter. I'm not going to comment on the death. There are obviously potentially dark jokes to be made about an organised group who has historically persecuted marginalised people in the name of their god. But ultimately it was a life, and I think all life is sacred. Ironically.
But whatever you think..... it is *a bit* funny that I randomly ended up with hummus from the event. Divine intervention? Divine interBENtion morelike. (sorry, I am a horrible person)
