You know the best way of avoiding supply-chain shock when there’s a sudden constriction in supply? Cause a demand spike by encouraging hoarding on an individual basis!
@fulelo So, no coordinated national action such as forcing the supermarkets to cut into their billions of profit by massively supplying and subsidising food banks?
No plans to predeploy the army for road clearance of trees and debris?
No plans to supplement the limited number of power transmission repair crews? Or install more emergency hospital capacity?
No building extra flood defences before predictable flooding?
Of course not, just leave an atomised population to starve in the dark.
@BashStKid @fulelo We don't do preparedness. Got me last week when a local councillor was being grilled about why so many street drains were blocked leading to flash floods. 'It's because we have had such a long dry summer, we need it to rain to reveal which drains are blocked.'
