Andy Ngo has publicly asked the U.S. State Department to treat Sabot Media’s reporting on the Autistici/Inventati sanctions as “support” for A/I and has described this publication as its “propaganda wing.”
Sabot Media is an independent publication. We are not an agent, affiliate or organizational arm of Autistici/Inventati. We have reported on the U.S. government’s designation, interviewed affected parties, examined the people and institutions that advocated for the policy, and published the underlying records so readers can evaluate them for themselves.
That is journalism.
It is also worth noting that OFAC’s own guidance states that U.S. sanctions do not prohibit constitutionally protected political speech and recognizes protections for the exchange of information and informational materials.
If Ngo or Kyle Shideler has evidence that Sabot Media has provided financial, technical or other prohibited services to A/I, they should publish it. Calling critical reporting “terrorist support” does not make it so.
