There have always been those in FOSS and EFF that go beyond so-called copyleft and want to abolish copyright, design-patents/Registered-design & Patents.

It's divesting copyright from US corporate control & reform that's needed. Reform of USPTO.

Abolition of DRM, DMCA and adding "right to repair" and info for it as basic human right.
Google should have lost the scanning case.
Internet Archive isn't just archiving but acting just like a pirate site.

This is no surprise at all.

I don't know if people understand how EFF is held up as a standard for operational security for the layperson.

Also, now struggling to think of organizations Doctorow is associated with that aren't sketchy.
