so why I still/again use #slackware is the excellent base collection of packages, the recent versions, no systemd and it's design focused on leaving every piece of software "as is", super simple packaging I can easily add, absolutely ZERO fluff added, absolutely super stable, you can still understand the whole system, no snapflataptpackyum and almost "complete" for my personal taste.
I usually just add some of my fancy CLI tools I like and the container bla and I'm done.
I sometimes wonder why not everyone sees this as one of Slackware's biggest strengths.
installpkg, removepkg and upgradepkg are simple shell scripts that you can actually read and understand. SlackBuilds are just shell scripts too. Then you have SlackBuilds.org: you can use something like sbopkg, build things manually, or do what I do and maintain your own repository with selected packages based on SBo, sometimes using different versions.
There's a lot of flexibility there without adding layers of complexity or sacrificing the stability of the base system. That's one of the things I appreciate most about Slackware.
