They ‘cleaned up’ the Tenderloin. Every one went to the Mission. Now they’re ‘cleaning up’ the Mission. Guess where they’ll go next.

Multiple city agencies have worked together over the last 90 days at the Mission BART plazas. Neighbors say that results are too inconsistent....
the main problem being: there is no housing, the rents are too damn high, and it's going to get worse this / next year when even non-ai tech workers and lawyers are being pushed out of their apartments now with this 'boom'.
the more homelessness there is, the more militarization there is. this country really doesn't know how to deal with homelessness by building homes, but it certainly knows how to respond with force and carcerality.
Former POTUS Jimmy Carter, was building homes with Habitat for Humanity into his 80s, at least (maybe also his 90s? I dunno.).
Heck, the guy put his peanut business into a trust while he was President, because he didn't want to be impugned with potential corruption allegations.
Carter also put solar panels on the White House (Reagan, took them down).
Presently, we have a POTUS who has his own cryptocurrency.
I suspect: Carter understood how dire things were for the homeless and what a failure the USA was at resolving that challenge, hence his continued contributions after he left office.
Meanwhile, Obama will apparently make public appearances and speak at your event for $400,000 to $600,000.
It appears as if he last helped paint a home with Habitat for Humanity, in 2009.
