@LeslieBurns @msbellows @ai6yr Ohhhhhh. Dat's mean.
I have an Ex (from long ago) that left an Odwalla Super Food in her car in Sacramento. One fine 95DegF day it exploded After cooking/'marinading" for a few months. I was very happy when we sold that car.

lol
I was thankful this was just a can of sparkling water....
@MsMerope @elfin @LeslieBurns @msbellows THE HORROR! THE HORROR!
I have it saved around here somewhere (or maybe it's apocryphal), but there is a 911 call/report about some lady who was in her car, heard a LOUD POP, and felt a sharp pain in the back of her skull. She put her hand back there and felt something soft... called 911, thinking she was shot in the head. Fire crews arrived, and it ended up it was so hot a can of those instant PIllsbury biscuit containers had exploded and flown into the back of her head and she panicked....

During high school, I once had a can of WD-40 detonate inside my car on a hot day.
It was parked. I returned to find the entire inside surface covered with a thin, slimy film. It took an entire bottle of windex to clean the windows & windshield.
The vinyl seats were sooooo supple and soft afterwards though.
@elfin @LeslieBurns @msbellows Eww
(I had a kid who barfed up yogurt on the fabric seats... cleaned up as soon as we got home, but the smell of barfy yogurt permeated the car on extremely hot days, even after multiple soapings, for several years. 🤢 )

I caught a skunk in my raccoon trap and carefully wrapped the trap in a tarp and put it in the trunk and drove the 5 minutes to my release spot. Not wrapped carefully enough. (Now if I get a skunk I carefully prop the trap open and let him leave on his own)
Then, a year later when *that* smell finally faded I took a plastic trash bag down to the transfer station... And it had a small tear in it, and surprisingly liquid contents of I don't know what 🤢
@evilotto @elfin @LeslieBurns @msbellows Ewwwwww
Skunk story: my son's backpacking tarp got sprayed by a skunk.
Being a cheapskate, instead of throwing it out, I tried to wash it (using tomato juice and hydrogen peroxide). It reduced but did not totally remove the smell.
I left the tarp outside in the backyard, and EVERY SKUNK FROM MILES AROUND CAME BY TO CHECK ON WHO WAS IN THEIR TERRITORY, and they marked the fence, walls, etc. HUGE MISTAKE. They had to mark the yard for territorial reasons because of the "strange skunk" that had gotten into their territory.
(threw that away after the third time a skunk came by and marked something that week).
