The Falkland Islands have been British since 1765, and in 2013 the residents voted 99.8 percent in favor of tensioning a British colony, but now, Argentinian president Javier Milei says, Argentina wants the island, and Trump says he is "reevaluating" whether he supports Britain's claim to the islands.
The wannabe dictators sure are having a good time in 2026.
@randahl Is Milei expecting us to just hand over the Falklands? If not, is he going to use military force?
Trump's America bailed out Argentina with a $20bn loan guarantee; can Argentina afford to fight against us? No.
Trump would be extremely dumb to use American military forces to help out his new crazy friend, and it would forever ruin the US-UK relationship. If he did, maybe they'd finally 25th Amendment his fat ass.
Would it also require NATO's involvement re: Art. 5?

@randahl Argentina making a lot of assumptions there that they might want to think a little harder about. They'll have their invasion force all ready to go, the phone will ring, and it'll be Trump, telling them the Falklands are American now.
