"Shoot poor kids before they grow up to be criminals"
@mrundkvist What is that and why is it plagiarism of "C'est arrivé près de chez vous" / "Man bites Dog" 's poster?
It’s political satire. The man in the picture is the Swedish prime minster, head of the conservative party and for a marionette cabinet taking orders from the far right.
@avadeaux.bsky.social @mrundkvist Still plagiarism, though.
Wouldn't it fall under fair use, satire?
Svenska:Wouldn't it fall under fair use, satire?
@alvekatt.bsky.social @avadeaux.bsky.social @mrundkvist Fair use is an American thing.
Satire means you're referencing the original work, not just use it for unrelated reasons.
@David @avadeaux.bsky.social @mrundkvist most copyright legislation has exemptions for parody, which I personally think is a good thing. It would be a sad thing if playing on existing art in satire and parody was deemed undesirable.
