@grahamperrin I tried to go into much more depth, and add a little analysis.
I an still trying to adjust to the information that @cstross imparted last year: that it is perfectly normal to read only as slowly as one speaks.
I think it was in response to someone saying that a short funny thing I'd linked to took him his entire lunch hour to read.
It's making me re-assess the entire textual internet. I knew I was fast but I didn't realise I was about an order of magnitude faster than is typical.
I type fast too, but I'm *horribly* inaccurate, so I waste a lot of time fixing what I type. But in few minutes it takes me to write a Mastodon post, I could read an article of the typical length I write.
@lproven @grahamperrin No, that's for *reading aloud*. Which is really hard to do at actual reading speed (which is about twice as fast as human speech, unless you're really slow!).
@cstross @grahamperrin I really don't think it was, no, but Mastodon search is so appallingly weak that I can't find it -- only something unrelated you posted on Yule Eve.
2nd time today Fedi search has let me down. #grump
