Name a catastrophic event that occurred in your world/universe.
In the Laundry Files, it's unambiguously CASE NIGHTMARE GREEN—that's the main plot driver for the last 7 books in the (main) 10 book series! (A positive feedback loop that makes magic easier, like anthropogenic climate change, nearly tears the universe apart before we stop adding to it.)
In the current WIP, the fictional universe is so vast that no plausible catastrophe is big enough to be non-local.

So the Infovore that sucked all the energy out of the Nazi universe was localized? I'll have to re-read that.
What about collapse of the false vacuum or Egan's Mimosa event?
@resuna Entirely different series (still in development, not yet published, but includes non-local wormholes for travel throughout the entire Virgo supercluster—possibly beyond).
OK, that would survive the galactic Lacerta event from Diaspora, but Mimosa (Schild's Ladder) would eat the Virgo supercluster within 200 million years, and a false vacuum collapse would expand twice as fast as that.
