Went to the website of a project team that is part of and funded by Cambridge University.
Its *obscure the whole screen* cookie overlay expects JavaScript to run but it fails on my phone and just dumps its inline css into the container.
Turning JavaScript OFF allows me to see the page content.
But when I click a link from that page to a scientific paper the host of that site (royalsocietypublishing.org) will show *nothing* unless I turn JavaScript ON.

…JavaScript has so much potential to be an enhancing technology but it has phase shifted into being an enshittifying technology.
Yes, I know there’s always been shit JavaScript from year 1 of its existence in the public sphere but the sheer scale of its shitness is now something to behold
…Incidentally, one of the absolute grifters that features in last night’s Channel 4 exposé of Reform party criminality is James Orr, who is also at Cambridge University, where he is an Associate Professor and a postdoctoral fellow in *ethics*.

…Anyway, the project at the top that has a website where I have to turn JavaScript OFF to access it, is The Use Less Group.
They are good people doing good and important work.
But given that their focus is on engineering a more robust use of technology in the future, they could do with a web team who know how to make web pages robust :/
