Ann Blyth & Vic Damone, "Stranger In Paradise".
I know you're gonna shit-talk, but, seriously, like you never wore stupid headgear that basically amounted to hand towels wrapped around you.
She *warbles* big-time, but that tremolo she puts in to every single note? She was an amazing singer, and that was the style at the time.
Damone went on to become a mediocre crooner. Sometime it be's like that. But this is an amazing take of an amazing song.
... I saw your face ...
... and I ascended ...
... out of the commonplace ...
... in to the rare ...
... Somewhere in space ...
... I hang suspended ...
... until I know ...
... there's a chance that you care ...
I am not being ironic here. This is a great lyric, and two great singers, and one of the finest duets ever recorded by MGM.
