(I have no effing idea and no interest, but it's one of the very few opportunities I'll ever get to be on a board of directors, paid or undpaid, so I'll give it a run. Also, Tor Project, professionally bypassing all sorts of legalities, no risk no fun!)
They are particularly looking for:
Experience in board or nonprofit leadership;
Senior level fundraising experience;
Legal expertise and background;
Ability to leverage a network of contacts within the industry, academic, or nonprofit sectors to create new opportunities for Tor;
Management of senior leaders and executives, including capacity to mentor and coach; or
Management of open source software and/or technical communities.
Journalism or media experience preferred, with the ability to bring relevant insight and perspective to Tor’s strategy to support journalists.
