Blaise Pascal started a horse-drawn bus service in Paris in the 1600’s and it was super popular amongst commoners until it was basically banned by the aristocracy. Bus service didn’t come back until well after the French Revolution. I had no idea the struggle over public transit was so long.

"I don't know if it's true or not, but it's what I choose to believe"
Never change
@sidereal Hm, wikipedia has a different take on that: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrosses_%C3%A0_cinq_sols
Interesting nonetheless.
