Long weekend coming up. Adding packaging and clean up visuals for button pushes. It's 3/4 of the way there. Works in COSMIC, KDE and GNOME.
If I can't bring my Linux desktop to the 80s, I will bring the 80s to my Linux Desktop. 😂

- Photoreal deck with reels driven by physically derived spool speeds. The source reel empties and speeds up while the take-up slows, on an area-conserving pack model.
- Cassette Rack — fan through your library, one cassette per album, cover art from your tags.
- Case-open and insert animation.
- Dynamic label — song and album read from your file tags, rasterized and rotated, redrawn on each track change.

- Five colour skins: Denim Belt, Red, Blue, Black, White.
- Swappable room backgrounds. Cycle the built-ins or add your own PNG, JPG, or WEBP.
- Album-cover wallpaper behind the deck.
- Real player: play, pause, stop, seek, volume, hold to wind, auto-advance across albums, session resume.

- Mechanical sound — key clicks, the tape seating with a clunk, the wind whirr for as long as you hold it, an end-of-tape clack.
- MPRIS — media keys, playerctl, and desktop panel controls.
- MP3, FLAC, M4A/AAC, and WAV.
@matthartley can you make it do the squeaky noises ⏩ when the magnetic pick-up scrubs over the tape in fast forward?
ohh and an easter egg where we can pull out all the tape in a pile on the floor and wind it back with a pencil. okay maybe not that second one.
@travisfw I love the Easter egg idea where you're basically looking at a big pile of tape on the floor cuz I've done that in the past way back in the day. I love that. Yeah that might actually be. It might actually be possible. I have to think about it.
