modal popup on the duckduckgo settings page after i disabled their AI shit on a new browser
@hipsterelectron looks like you want to use https://noai.duckduckgo.com/?
It's their search page with none of the genAI.
If you mean their browser then I have never used it (would recommend Vivaldi if you want to avoid genAI in the browser)
@hipsterelectron You can save/load your settings as a paraphrase. They call it “cloud save”, but there’s no account creation needed.
@hipsterelectron You can also set you search engine to noai.duckduckgo.com. Me, I’m a Cookie Monster, I never wipe them, and find my settings stick for basically forever.
@TorontoWill the reason this occurred was because firefox nightly suddenly died for no reason again and i wanted to at least make this firefox tolerable since chrome is still avoutly intolerable https://circumstances.run/@hipsterelectron/117208808820000098
@hipsterelectron oh yes, they do this when I block slop sites in search results too, but I think the ad in that case is for their browser
and of course their cookies expire constantly, I’ve never used a production site that expires its cookies this frequently
one might call this extremely intentional
