(Everyone has their story about how Warren Kinsella blocked them on Twitter. Mine was that I razzed him for eating at New Ho King "like a fucking undergrad".)
Lots of great storm/aftermath/awesome sunset photos on /r/toronto at the moment.
Saw people commenting on a video of the flooded Liberty Village underpass at King & Atlantic like, "Fix this instead of ripping out bike lanes," and "Why does this even happen". Chat I'm just as pissed about the bike lanes as you are but the road has to dip to go under the railroad tracks. It is the lowest-lying spot in the immediate area. When there's 10 cm of rain that's where it goes. We can't fix the laws of physics!!!
(Also, our sewer system is just not equipped to handle so much water in such a short period of time. I'm gonna bet most cities' aren't. It is likely not possible to fix, and if it were the cost would be astronomical. Like my brain just shuts down trying to imagine it. It would probably not be worth it even if this happened every week of the year.)

@nev after wandering Biidaasige Park this summer, I was wondering if it worked as intended to reduce flooding in the Don Valley.
I've seen lots of images of the DVP and mentions of closures, but nothing about the park and whether it helped reduce the severity of that flooding vs. what might otherwise have happened. Have you seen anything on that?
@paulnatsuo I was curious too, haven't seen anything though
@paulnatsuo I did see some mention on /r/toronto that there may still be barriers in place to let the park's aquatic plants establish, so it's probably not fully "operational". The DVP would almost certainly have flooded anyway.
