This morning's mission is to repel an attack currently hitting a client's server.
I'd like to avoid external solutions, so I'm trying to handle it at the firewall level. Anubis works, but the client doesn't want a "banner" in front of it.
It's a complex mission... let's see how it goes!

@ricardo this is interesting, but the recent attacks come from residential ISPs and generally don't try to hack the system. They're something like DDoS 2.0 - trying to exhaust the server, making requests (especially to non-static contents) to bring it down.
That's why solutions like fail2ban won't be effective 😔
@stefano Riposte only helps as a reporting mechanism in addition to other proactive measures you might have already in place.
