I left 1Password months ago due to prioritization of AI feature integrations which made it a lot harder to trust as a closed source engineering team. Funny how these kinds of vibechecks almost always end up shaking out to reveal even more troubling positions.

While not every AI user is fascist (some are truly naïve and why I speak up), the boosters frequently end up with some awful ideas about getting along with blatantly fascist people. Calling AI a fascist artifact is not at all inaccurate.
All of this is so disappointing and alarming. So many people seem unable to take in how serious things really are. None of this is a drill. We are living in an era where masks are coming off and revealing a kind of dehumanization that is historically familiar while very much unique to our time. Do not mistake our adoption of 20th century terms as the idea that things must be exact replicas. 21st century fascism is real and people need to take this seriously. *Refusal starts at a personal level.*
