I turned it off 10 years ago, and I don't miss it one little bit.

Same! Phone is in silent mode, no voicemail. If people want to call me, they can make an appointment.
@neil I grabbed some recordings from a website and changed my voicemail greeting to "(reorder tone) Due to military activity in your area, calls can not be routed at this time. Please deposit 25 cents for the next three minutes."
Folks that know me know my message is totally bogus and just wait for the beep.
@neil setting the message to 'Enter launch code' gets rid of most of them
