"Many" years ago (around 2020) when #flatpak was not as developed as today, I was ranting about the disk space that the flatpak runtimes took on a person's device, particularly if:
- you mixx KDE and GTK apps
- if app devs don't update their apps as fast as the EOL of flatpak runtimes
- If you have to have dev runtimes on top of that
The answer I got at the time from a flatpak community member was: "storage is bigger and cheaper every year".
Fast forward to 2026 in the age of AI...
