Some aspects of the Ukraine war are so World War 1 it is hard to believe.
In this example, Ukraine uses small propeller aircraft to fly close to Russian Shahed type drones and shoot them down with traditional guns.

@randahl I'm surprised they're using pump-action guns. WWI had rapidly advanced to wing-mounted machine guns. You would have imagined attaching a couple on the wings surfaces shouldn't have been such a big deal.
I assume they fly cheaper than F-16's or Mig's. Also the bullets will cost a tiny fraction of what a Patriot missile costs.
In other words: brilliant!
