Ekō (macron over the O) is an org that purports to be "Stopping Big Corporations From Behaving Badly"
either they're more Effective Altruists or they're completely in hock to them

they just sent me a beg email for money for this great cause

@davidgerard They were founded by Taren Stinebrickner-Kauffman, according to the all knowing Wikipedia, who now runs https://www.goldengateinstitute.org/about which is the most Silicon Valley Liberal looking group you can get. A group whose concerns about AI are all laid out across various substacks, because of course substack, with views that seem suspiciously close to the EA and Anthropic line on the tech.
