Everything seems to be either:
- For breadboards. Breadboards don't have a spatial/intuitive layout.
- Just a pile of stuff in one big PCB with a fixed layout
- Too dumbed down, few gates with bright colors for really young kids
- Arduino/whatever/not logic
I had a kit that had transistors, resistors, capacitors, and logic blocks that would snap onto a carrier board (in whatever layout you want), and then wire up with flying wires. You could add your own parts too (bare resistors etc).
There was a 2 digit LCD counter module too.
I think it was like... French or something? But obviously it doesn't exist any more.
I kind of really want to design a modern version of this now and I think I have a plan...
