ppl on zig subreddit upset because I spent time unwinding after 10+ hour workdays contributing to Zig but on a hobby computer project, rather than whatever they think is the highest priority thing for me to do with my own time
wait until they find out I also watch anime and spend 1+ hour per day studying Japanese rather than working, not to mention eating, sleeping, and exercising, and god forbid taking vacation days
@andrewrk i DEMAND you add sumo to your schedule...! (i mean, watching is OK, no need to compete, up to you)
@andrewrk I'm curious if any of these upset people supports Zig in any way other than just using it? 🙂 Usually those who complains the most have the least right to complain 😁
@andrewrk Lol - I'd bet just about everyone who's done anything in open source has had a similar experience.
Admittedly doubly annoying for yourself since Zig is a programming language and therefore your entire user base has the skills to contribute their favorite patch if they were so inclined.
@andrewrk there should be a program where people can contribute funds to sponsor open source developers to take vacation.
@andrewrk for each complaint you should take (at least) one more vacation day
@andrewrk It would be one thing if Zig felt somehow stagnant. It's such a fast moving well run project. Go complain about Firefox or LibreOffice.
