My buddy and I were driving past Phoenicia, NY, and I pointed to the sign and said "People from this town left and went west and eventually founded Carthage, Illinois" and he said "No shit, really?" and I said "NO NOT REALLY HOW LONG HAVE YOU KNOWN ME?"

My mom went to Carthage College when it was still in Carthage, IL, e.g. before it moved to KENOSHA, and whoever their arch-rival in sports was, if the latter did not use "Carthago delenda est" as their teams' battle cry then the entire school should lose accreditation.
Wanna get mad at something silly and superfluous?
Five years ago, Carthage College changed its teams' name to "the Firebirds" and, I don't know, man, you left a LOT of shit on the table with that one. Like WAR ELEPHANTS? Like how would THAT mascot NOT be totally badass?

Eastern Michigan University's team name is the Eagles. It is NOT the Emus.
