A flat tire on my stupid plug-in hybrid car that doesn't have a spare was definitely what I needed on my first day of teaching for the semester. FUCK. $100+ taxi ride? Or risk the scary farm truck that is likely to die at any moment? The currently required car-dependence of living in a rural place really really sucks. I should get a horse.

@sundogplanets The nice thing about the Kitchener-Waterloo area is that there are horse-barns in many surprising areas, although none at the universities themselves, as far as I know.
U Guelph does have horse barns on campus, but that's because of the vet college.
