The thing I love most about the US right's obsession with the Spartans, is that the Spartans weren't even good at war. They weren't. 🤷🏿♂️
They were obsessed with *battle*. But battle is not war. When you look at their war track record? They lost as much as they won against the poets, farmers and wine drinkers.🤡
Even their battle win loss record was 50/50, and only if you count battles where they fought as part of a coalition. When you look at battles where they fought alone? They lost more than they won.🤡
Why? A silly belief that they were superior, meant they didn't change tactics. They were predictable.
