ANSWER: nope, this isn't the same as a Masto web "quote post".

@toychicken Yeah, I think some clients see a Fedi link and just automatically do the right looking sort of embed, so probably that looks the same as a proper "quote post".

I was curious to see what the difference between a Mastodon web UI "quote post" and a Moshidon "mention post" was.

(I haven't actually looked under the hood to see what the data looks like, but I presume there is a difference... one I expect puts the quoted post into suitable metadata, whilst the Moshidon version is simply the URL in the post text.)
