It says it all about the ethical values of the combatants in the Ukraine war that Ukraine is striking oil refineries while Russia is attacking libraries and publishers.

@cstross Ukraine is also striking online shopping company warehouses. But, I'm not sure where that falls on the ethical spectrum.
@merc The online shopping warehouses are major logistic hubs for the Russian military—they're shipping all sorts of stuff to the front that the official Russian military logistics can't provide for their troops.

One nation spent all of its long range weaponry striking military targets. The other spent a good proportion striking civilian targets. Which one has captured more ground?
@cstross and hitting the publishers and libraries is itself a war crime under the 1954 Hague Convention on the Protection of Cultural Property.
