Sometimes the scariest stories aren't about what's lurking in the shadows but the dark corners of the human psyche. Those are the ones that stick with you long after the last page.

@farah I always liked anything by the victorian horror writer, Algernon Blackwood. Most or all of his stuff is available free through the Gutenburg project. “Scare my pants off” is a tall order but his books have a great horror vibe.

@farah I dunno if it will scare your pants off but I really liked "Cuckoo" by Gretchen Felker-Martin. It was both scary and extremely gay.
