The fun part about old computers and consoles is that they're still there, if not physically then via emulator, and you can just decide to program for them instead of something modern for no reason other than that it'd be a neat experience and you want to
And you can still make stuff people would want today
Why make something for DOS? Why make something using QBasic?
Why not? Why make something with Lua, or C#, or JavaScript, or Python? Why make something with Godot or Love2D or Raylib?
Creation is its own reward
Is it art to make something for old computers or with obsolete languages? I dunno I just think it's fun
