for some, it seems open source is "how to access free labour". for me, it is a lot about community and attribution. and a political statement against the current capitalist system... but I guess this is fading, and a lot of companies have found ways on how to use open source for their profit (see above)

so what is next? is there any sense to work on software? with the hope to change something to the better.

and then LLM and this junk of heating the already burning world came into being. don't let me get started on those.

My opinion is that we need to open source the organization around the software.

Software is an artifact that can be appropriated for one's own benefit, for profit or not, for control and power or not because there are other social reasons for that power to exist.

By creating the organizations "open" to everyone, transparent, easy to understand, easy to copy and alter, we remove those power relations around software.
