@chriscoyier I was mostly learning guitar in high school. But my dad was calling square dances as a side gig, and always needed a bass player. So I learned, just playing the roots of each chord.
Which also meant I could join the school Jazz band without trying to learn jazz guitar, which 😅🙅🏻♀️
