A FOAF defended a PhD thesis in cryptography with a panel of math and CS professors. In a break they got talking about hobbies. The FOAF said "I've got really into type design. It's so intricate. I mean," turning to one of the examiners, "have you ever really thought about what goes into making a font?"

"Well, as it happens..." began the kindly old CS professor.
