I wanted to play video games this weekend, right?
So I unpacked my playstation and found the box with my games in it (I have a PS5 with a disc drive, and don't really do download games, in spite of how ludicrously inconvenient ps5 discs are.)
But I couldn't find my ps5 controllers.
Or, at leas,t I couldn't find my ps5 controllers.
I found an xbox controller (I've never owned any xboxen), and a switch controller, and a ps4 controller.
Ps4 controllers almost work on the ps5.
But I wanted to play a ps5 game, and for bullshit reasons, sony won't let you play a ps5 game with a ps4 controller.
So I went to the store to buy a ps5 controller.
I started at Second and Charles, because I wanted to look at their used games.
They only had ps4 controllers and they were forty dollars.
They also had no games.
So I went to the local used game store.
And they had one ps5 controller but it was a special edition thing and two hundred dollars.
They had a bunch of games though, and I got a cheap used copy of a game I have on PC.
So I went to fucking wal mart.
And at walmart, I discovered that PS5 controllers are currently like eighty dollars.
I found a controller. I bought a second one. What a pain in the ass.
But also, if I play video games at all (which I rarely do), I have access to two different computers that are capable of playing modern PC games.
And I have an xbox controller.
So I'll play some PC games, right?
But I reinstalled my OS since the last time I played games on this PC.
So I have to wait on downloads, and updates, and shaders, and ...
Anyway, I managed to play some Ratchet and Clank as of about 10pm.
