Claude Code is like Victor Wembanyama, assuming you follow the NBA and are interested in first hand experience with CC as a programming partner for the last 8 months or so.

@davew I've been using CC for a while because my employer pays for it, and TBH I prefer pi.dev and models that shut up and do what I tell them. Especially when CC starts doing things I don't tell it to do.
Damn right, but I managed to get it to stop doing that with an easy to type keyword — Dave Drives. I also tell it I want it to behave more like a computer and just answer the question.
@davew with respect, how can it be a partner? A tool, certainly, but a partner has to be invested.
i've had a few coding partners in the past. i work with claude the same way i work with them. we discuss the next steps and do them and come back and to it again and again.
i have the map for the product in my head, that's usually how it usually has worked with human collaborators. but sometimes i have played the role of claude, where i was working for a director, and i like that role too. ;-)
