Helpful fedi, I’m looking for iOS map app recommendations that work well in Australia including with bushwalking. I’d love one that lets me track where I’ve been.
I’m finally disentangling myself from the stupid, in this case Google maps. My tolerance for hydronym nonsense turns out to be nil.
What map apps do you use?

Alongside CoMaps which had already been mentioned, I've had good luck with OsmAnd~
I haven't tried recording tracks in OsmAnd~. I've used Vespucci for recording GPX files for later use.
@kate I’ve been testing CoMaps and Organic Maps, both look promising especially with showing hiking trails
@kate I’ve played around with Organic Maps, but not enough to fully endorse it. Seems good for offline maps at least.
I had to go check Google’s map of Lake Ontario when I saw your comment on hydronyms. What a pack of fascist collaborators.
@Drbruced It’s such a little stupid thing, but it’s also symptomatic of modern power that is seemingly uncheckable. It connects to all the horrors, the full-scale invasion, the genocide, the excursions and incursions, the predatory extractive geopolitics, the data centres. This one little stupid thing just did me in.
