Over the last couple of days, out of a mix of curiosity and a desire to do something achievable, I did a major update of the list of community-hosted code forges I started in 2018;

Towards the end of the process, I stumbled on this site, which seems to be using some automated method to do the same thing;

I'll continue to update the part of the page tracking projects which are experimenting with ways to federate these independent forges, or otherwise decentralise code forging. But now that I know there's an automated directory of web forges publicly available, there's not much point doing all the work of curating a manual list. The list on that page will be left in its August 2026 form for posterity.
