I've just been updating this page on community-hosted software forges, and there may be useful resources here that are currently missing from you page;

There have been a lot of experiments in decentralised code forging over the past few years and some of them have produced working prototypes (eg SourceHut). But we still seem to be a long way from consensus on a standard way of doing this, which could enable all these community-hosted forges to function as a combined replacement for GritHub.

There must be a way to get there. Perhaps a conference, bringing together people from various projects to pitch their approaches and compare notes?
